At Ki Acupuncture, thoughtful, evidence-based care rooted in the wisdom of Chinese Medicine is at the heart of every treatment. Whether you’re seeking relief from pain or stress, managing a health condition, or simply wanting to feel more balanced and at ease, treatments provide a calm, supportive space for body and mind to realign.

I'm Richard, an acupuncturist and massage therapist focused on helping you to move and feel better. I strive to make every session personal and unhurried, and take time to listen and understand your needs, tailoring treatment to your goals. Many clients come to reduce pain or stress, improve sleep or energy, and find steadier emotional balance – but everyone leaves with a sense of calm, lightness, and renewed connection to themselves.
My approach blends traditional acupuncture and therapeutic massage with a modern understanding of anatomy, physiology, and neuroscience. This integrated care supports natural healing, helping your body to recover, rebalance, and stay well.
You can choose between two care pathways: Therapeutic Care, which combines acupuncture and tuina massage to support recovery and long-term wellness, or Restorative Care, focused on gentle, nourishing massage to relax and replenish.

Many clients first visit for help with specific concerns and choose to continue attending for preventive care. The monthly care plan makes ongoing support sustainable, offering discounted sessions for existing clients. Together, acupuncture and massage complement each other perfectly to restore harmony and encourage lasting wellbeing.
Acupuncture lies at the heart of Traditional East Asian Medicine. Fine needles are placed with precision and care to restore the body’s natural balance, ease tension, and support overall wellbeing.
Many people describe a deep sense of calm and clarity during treatment, as the body shifts from stress into repair and restoration. Acupuncture can be an effective way to nudge the nervous system out of habitual holding patterns and prompt the body to resolve longstanding issues.

Each session is unique: always individual, always unhurried, and always focused on you. Besides needles, treatment may include complementary methods such as cupping, gua sha, moxibustion (gentle warming of the points), or infrared heat therapy to enhance circulation, relieve pain, and support deeper relaxation. Electroacupuncture is available for deeper stimulation where appropriate. These therapies work together to move stagnation, release blockages, and encourage smooth, healthy flow through the body’s channels. Acupuncture is well-supported by modern scientific research, too – you can read more on the physiological mechanisms of acupuncture here, or discover what happens in your body when a needle is inserted here.
I also share mind–body practices such as qigong and yoga, which combine movement, breath, and awareness to help maintain balance between sessions. Together with strength and cardio training, healthy diet and sufficient rest, these traditional therapies support the body’s natural capacity to heal – bringing calm, vitality, and renewed harmony to the whole system.

The bodywork I offer combines the therapeutic depth of Chinese tuina medical massage with restorative techniques designed to release tension and support whole-body wellbeing.
Each session is shaped to what you need most – whether that’s easing pain and stiffness, improving circulation, or helping your nervous system settle.
Treatments range from focused tuina and remedial bodywork to full-body Swedish and Indian head massage.

They may incorporate elements of acupressure, neuromuscular and myofascial release, mobilisation, or reflexology, alongside traditional Chinese methods that work through the body’s channels to restore healthy movement of qi and blood.
Every session is both relaxing and effective: giving time to reconnect with yourself, unwind deeply, and leave feeling lighter, looser, and restored.

With more than 2,000 years of clinical history, acupuncture remains one of the safest and most widely practised forms of medicine in the world today. Likewise, massage is a time-honoured practice, renowned for promoting relaxation and enhancing overall wellbeing. People regularly seek treatment for help with:

At Ki Acupuncture, everyone is seen as deserving access to affordable, high-quality care. Base prices are intentionally among the most competitive for private acupuncture in the area. This isn’t about undervaluing my services; it’s about making holistic healthcare truly accessible for all. The monthly care plan, which has limited places, adds an extra layer of affordability for those committed to regular ongoing care.
In today’s climate, with many feeling the strain on national health services, an accessible alternative is offered, grounded in both evidence-based practice and the traditional wisdom of Chinese medicine. I integrate acupuncture, tuina, restorative massage, cupping, qigong, and other therapies to help you create a balanced and nourishing lifestyle.

At the heart of my approach is the belief that ongoing self-care is a cornerstone of lasting well-being, helping you maintain balance and health in the long term. Chinese medicine is uniquely placed to support not just physical health, but also emotional and mental balance, addressing both body and mind in a way that’s tailored to each individual.
I'm dedicated to fostering a friendly, personal relationship with each client. This way, you can feel comfortable and supported throughout. At the same time, you can trust in both the modern science and the ancient principles that guide my work. My focus is always on helping you feel your best, in a way that’s genuinely caring and affordable.
